About the Fellows
Adwoa Gyimah-Brempong
Adwoa Gyimah-Brempong creates structure through story, most recently designing a storytelling program at IDEO's open innovation community platform, OpenIDEO. She has designed and implemented projects on four continents in conjunction with USAID, the Rockefeller Foundation, Stanford's d.school, DfID, the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MIT, and Harvard.
Stephanie Kuo
Stephanie Kuo is a reporter and administrative producer at KERA, coordinating editorial content reports and logistics for the newly formed Texas Station Collaborative. Stephanie also reports on the intersection of poverty, homelessness and urban development in Dallas. She received a master's degree from Columbia Journalism School, and a bachelor's from the University of Texas at Austin. Before KERA, Stephanie spent three years traipsing around New York -- one of them working as an editor and producer at WFUV in the Bronx. Stephanie is originally from Plano, Texas, and spends her free time re-watching episodes of Law & Order: SVU.
Diana Nguyen
Diana Nguyen is from Houston, Texas and graduated with a degree in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas. She stumbled her way through the public broadcasting world until she joyfully found her footing in radio. Diana is the producer of the daily interview program, “West Texas Talk” at Marfa Public Radio, where she also reports. She is particularly interested in exploring overlooked stories that add color to larger discussions.
Micaela Rodriguez
Micaela Rodríguez is a project assistant on the NPR podcast Invisibilia, where she runs the social media, produces promos and is assisting on coordinating the launch of its third season. In the past, she worked in the Talent Acquisition and Diversity departments at NPR, and was an intern on the WITF program Smart Talk. Someday she hopes to be an audio engineer. Right now she just wants to get better at tennis.
Quincy Surasmith
Quincy Surasmith is a jack-of-all-trades producer/organizer/performing artist in Los Angeles. He hosts and produces the podcast Asian Americana, is the producer-editor of #GoodMuslimBadMuslim, and is an assistant producer at KPCC. Quincy is the co-founder of Potluck: an Asian American Podcast Collective, and also co-organizes with the Tuesday Night Project, an arts and community organization that produces the longest currently running Asian American mic series in the country. Quincy graduated with a BA from UC Santa Cruz, where he studied theatre and history.
Isabel Vázquez
Isabel Vázquez is a bicultural Puerto-Rican/American producer, storyteller and curious listener from central Illinois. Isabel moved to Chicago after living in Indonesia, where she taught English and got in only two motorbike crashes. She currently is the Assistant Producer of Re:sound, the radio show/podcast of the Third Coast International Audio Festival, and runs the ethnic and community media project at Public Narrative. Previously, she worked as the StoryBooth Intern at StoryCorps in Chicago. In her spare time, Isabel likes to marathon Bollywood movies, explore different neighborhoods in Chicago and teach family members how to download podcasts.
